The U.K.'s consumer price index fell to a record low of zero percent in February from a year earlier, data on Tuesday showed.
The number was below forecasts by analysts in a Reuters' poll for a rise of 0.1 percent, and compared with an increase of 0.3 percent in January.
The British pound fell to a session low of $1.4917, with the data suggesting the U.K. economy remains at risk of deflation in the short-term.
