KFC Popcorn Nugget tweet catches fire on Twitter

 
After a tweet promoting its Popcorn Nuggets, which it says are made with all-white-meat chicken, KFC is facing a backlash from Twitter users for marketing its fried food to children.
Along with a picture of a child holding a nugget and drinking from a KFC cup, the fast food chain tweeted:

The tweet, and the hashtag #MyFirstPopcornNugget, caught fire with Twitter users. Some were fans of KFC, owned by Yum Brands, and some shamed the company, accusing it of using genetically modified chicken, equating the nuggets to feces and suggesting KFC sponsor cancer screening.

KFC did not immediately respond to requests for comment from CNBC
