(Bloomberg) -- Employers added 295,000 workers to payrolls
in February and the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent,
figures from the Labor Department showed Friday in Washington.
The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of 96 economists
projected employment would rise by 235,000. Estimates ranged
from 150,000 to 370,000. The jobless rate was projected to drop
to 5.6 percent from January’s 5.7 percent.
