KFC Returns To Zimbabwe


VENTURES AFRICA – US headquartered fast food giant, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has returned to Zimbabwe seven years after folding operations in the southern African due too economic meltdown.
“After a long wait, our doors are once again opened to the general public in Harare, bringing back our “finger lickin’ good” food,” said KFC Zimbabwe in a statement.
KFC KFC Zimbabwe opened its first shop in the capital Harare this week. It is also planning to open 25 other outlets across the country.
KFC is a global fast food restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky in the United States.
It is the world’s second largest restaurant chain (as measured by sales) after Mac Donald’s, with 18,875 outlets in 118 countries and territories as of December 2013. The company is a subsidiary of Yum Brands, a restaurant company that also owns the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell chains.

KFC was founded by Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who began selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky , USA.
Businessman Kevin James — owner of Consolidated Farming Investments Limited, a leading investor in the fast food sector in Zimbabwe — is fronting KFC’s re-entry into Zimbabwe.
