“There will be announced at the summit at least $900 million in deals. It will be a combination of all different types of structures. But this is new money—and there will be more to come,” WSJ Frontiers quoted Pritzker as saying.
The business forum is aimed at encouraging US and Africa to shrink investment gaps between both regions.
Taking place alongside President Barack Obama’s US-Africa Leaders’ Summit, the forum is to be co-hosted by the Department of Commerce and Bloomberg Philanthropies. It is set to bring together over 200 American and African businesspeople, heads of state and other government officials, according to Pritzker.
Obama will on August 6 host over 40 African heads of state in Washington for the presidential summit. Top on the agenda for the summit are discussions on economic development, security and governance.
