Jumia Ivory Coast Partners French Pay TV For 2014 World Cup

Jumia
VENTURES AFRICA – Jumia Ivory coast has signed an agreement with French pay TV Canal+ ahead of the 2014 world cup that will enable its users enjoy discounts and offers during the four-week tournament.
Fatoumata Ba, Managing Director of the online retailer said “the latest partnership with Canal+ is indicative of our dedication to bringing the most popular brands and products to users in Ivory Coast.”
He added that Jumia’s dedicated World Cup store “stocks everything needed for family and friends to enjoy the tournament” – from football kits to BBQs to widescreen TVs fit to capture all the action in Brazil.
Jumia Ivory Coast has also put up a challenge for football fans to predict how far Ivory Coast will go in the World Cup.
According to the company, for every TV bought online at Jumia Ivory Coast between now and the 11th June, fans will be reimbursed depending on how well the Elephants (Ivory Coast national team) perform: 100% if they win the final, 50% for a semi-final victory and 25% if they pass the quarter-final stage.
“Ivory Coast is very patriotic and passionate about its footballing achievements, so naturally we wanted to get involved and offer our customers exclusive offers during this period, which we will continue to reveal throughout the tournament,” the MD added.
Jumia Ivory Coast had in recent times shown support for football in the country, partnering with the Night of African Football to honour some of the greatest African football legends such as Yaya Touré, Antoine Bell and Roger Milla.
