Netflix appeared to be back online after an outage that lasted for over an hour on Tuesday night, but not before distraught users took to the Internet to offload their grievances.
The video streaming giant, which has 33 million subscribers in over 40 countries, said the outage started at 3:40 p.m. Pacific time and affected users in North and South America and parts of Europe.
"Service was restored to most Netflix members in under an hour. Our engineers are still investigating the cause," it said in a statement.
"Apocalypse," "depression" and "horror" were some of the words Netflix fans used to describe their state of mind as the service went down.
