As part of the deal, Audi will enjoy significant brand exposure during Proteas’ games and also in the media. Audi also brings an innovative touch to the Proteas as they will offer fans and spectators a chance to understand the game more with the Audi Performance Tracker which provides data on player performance. Audi will also engage the Audi Speedgun which measures the pace and speed of every ball. These features are expected to make the game more enjoyable and enriching for fans in South Africa as Audi brings a touch of sophistication to the famous sport.
Head of Audi South Africa, Paul Sansom expressed his company’s delight to partner with the Proteas as, according to him, it allows the Audi brand expand its business in
South Africa and help grow the game of cricket as well.
“Audi South Africa is delighted to be the Official Vehicle Partner of the Proteas and are certain this partnership will allow us to not only expand our business in South Africa, but will also attract new supporters to Cricket as the team prepares for the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015,” he said.
Paul Sansom was also keen to establish the synergy that makes the alignment between the two brands something to be excited about.
‘Sporty, sophisticated and progressive – these are the core brand values of Audi, and are most definitely values which identify with the game of Cricket, displaying the synergies of these two brands and our partnership,’ he concluded.
Cricket South Africa boss, Haroon Lorgat also expressed his delight with the deal saying it was a good way to end the year. ‘It’s always a good way to end the year when we can announce another commercial partner to our stable. There is no doubt that Audi is a global player in the automotive industry, and we are proud to be associated with such an exciting and dynamic brand, he said.
Audi is famous for its many partnerships in sports such as golf, motorsport and football. The car brand has a partnership with one of the world’s biggest sporting brands, Real Madrid, and supplies its range of luxury cars to Real Madrid’s famous names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
The deal with Audi comes only weeks after Cricket South Africa announced Samsung as its official consumer electronics partner.
