Juventus FC v FC Nordsjaelland - UEFA Champions League
VENTURES AFRICA – Ghanaian footballer and Juventus player, Kwadwo Asamoah, has been recognized by the Italian Players’ Association as one of the best players in the Italian top flight.
Asamoah, who joined Juventus from Udinese in 2012 for €9 million, has enjoyed an enhanced reputation in the past few seasons and has won two Scudetto titles as well as two Italian Super Cup titles.
Asamoah received his award for being the best left back in the league at the Gran Gala del Calcio awards on Monday and was also present to see his team, Juventus, named the Team of the Year while six of his team-mates also picked up accolades.
Currently injured, Asamoah expressed his delight with the award thanking his team-mates for helping him improve his game.
“I want to thank all my team-mates and the coach who
converted me into that role. He constantly used me effectively in that position till I became perfect.”
Asamoah will be hoping to help Ghana make an impact at the African Cup of Nations next year, injury permitting, after picking up bronze and silver medals in 2008 and 2010.
Asamoah’s career has rapidly grown after he was named CAF’s Most Promising Player in 2010 as he has been named the 2012 and 2013 Ghanaian Player of the Year.
