A team of Marvel characters rocketed past a group of astronauts at the weekend box office.
Disney's animated adventure "Big Hero 6" debuted in first place with $56.2 million, while the Paramount and Warner Bros. space saga "Interstellar" launched in second place with
$50 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
"Big Hero 6" centers on the inflatable robot Baymax and his prodigy pal Hiro from the Marvel comic book of the same name.
"Interstellar" stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway as astronauts who venture to another galaxy in search of a new home for humanity.
